Hi, I’m Dolly
My name is Rafaelina Cortorreal, but you can call me Dolly. I am a PhD candidate at Capella University in the field of Counseling Psychology.
I moved to South Carolina from New York to pursue my dream of helping others. I’ve earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Phoenix, and continued my education with Capella University where I earned my Master’s of Science in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Sex Therapy.
I am now in my dissertation stage with Capella University for my Doctorate in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy.
I assist couples in strengthening their marriage and getting back on track in order to prevent divorce. Through therapy, you can create a more fulfilling marital relationship that includes boundaries, respect, effective communication, honesty, loyalty, and a more fulfilling sexual relationship.
I HAVE A STRONG DESIRE TO HELP OTHERS, ESPECIALLY IN THE AREA OF IMPROVING RELATIONSHIPS WITH COUPLES, BY HELPING THEM REGAIN HOPE AND FIND THEIR WAY BACK TO EACH OTHER.
We live in a world that is becoming more and more stressful for everyone. People need a safe place and someone that they can count on and reach out to, to connect to those who can help them in times of crisis and also help them manage stressful situations. I want to be able to help be part of a support network for individuals and couples who are experiencing crisis or being affected by traumatic and difficult events.
I am also the founder of Counseling and Mentoring Services. I founded the office in 2013 to assist teens and families in crisis. My role as a Therapist and Mental Health Counselor, includes assisting clients with setting and planning long and short-term goals and help them develop coping skills, stress management skills, anger management strategies, social skills, and positive ways to improve self-esteem.
In my role as a therapist/counselor, I also serve as a support person for clients dealing with grievance related to family death and illnesses and also help clients research available resources such as shelter, clothing, food, education, and job opportunities.
My other services include, anger management, stress management, skills for anxiety and depression, phobias, self-awareness, and impulsive behavior.
I also conduct workshops and group therapy for depression and suicide prevention.
It’s normal to experience setbacks in life and repeating behaviors that no longer serve us. I can help you overcome those and equip you with the tools for creating a more fulfilling life. If you desire something different than what you’re experiencing then let me help you get there.
